        Jean Akouri was born and raised in Lebanon. A Michigan State University graduate (BA, Journalism, 1992), he
        worked in Dubai and Switzerland before establishing a Beirut-based communications consultancy in 2004. He
        has been opening up about being gay throughout his life, experiencing first-hand both evolving and regressing
        attitudes towards homosexuals in different cultures.
