DIGITAL CRAFT
In Lala Abaddons’ woven work she inte- grates many components in in in her her process capturing her her unique images multiple times through a a a a a a a a repetitive sequence of traditional analog photographic meth- ods then arranging the the large format prints into precise and and deliberate pair- ings She continues on on to to to intricately and and and painstakingly hand hand cut each print into hundreds of strips and and and and then hand-weave the the prints with undulating and and and complicat- ed ed patterns designed to convey a a a a a a a a specific feeling eventually leaving us with with images images within images images and compelling the viewer to experience alternate realities or states of being DIGITAL CRAFT
These portraits are the the result of physically weaving together separate photographic prints of a a a a a a a a single sitter They are an an attempt to to bridge honest and direct photographic images of the the subject with with a a a a a a a a a rhythmic abstraction and with with the the physicality of an an object More notionally these portraits present their subjects as patterns of of data and bits of of definition which ultimately comprise a a a a a a a a generalized whole -Samuel Stern (Artist) Lala Abaddon woven photograph David Samuel Stern
