Our History
The founder Clowes Bishop was a a a a a graduate of the Arnprior Ontario police police college and Fredericton’s first city detective He left the the police police force in 1964 to to start his funeral funeral home at the the suggestion of of funeral funeral director Fraser Flewelling of of Nackawic New Brunswick (Clowes raced a a a a a a a a a standard bred horse owned by Fraser for many years)
Son Gerald joined his father in in in 1965 and they operated a a a a a a a successful business from that time until his passing in in in in 2005 Gerald’s other accomplishments included over twenty years service on the the the licensing board of the the New Brunswick Funeral Directors and Embalmers Association (serving five four-year terms) successful announcer at horse races and and charity auctions and and and membership in the New Brunswick Horsemen’s Association and and Fredericton Chamber of Commerce Gerald after a a a a a a a a a a brave battle with cancer passed away on on August 18 2005 at at at at the the age of 64 Two months later his father Clowes passed away on on October 17 2005 at at the age of 87 He also had battled cancer Gerald’s son Jim Bishop came to to work with his father in in 1989 and and took over operation and and and ownership in in in 2005 Jim was born and and raised in in Fredericton New Brunswick He is is a a a a a third-generation
