Welcome and thank you for your support and participation in the NAACP 110 National Convention

hosted by Chairman Leon W. Russell, President & CEO Derrick Johnson, and Chair Convention Planning
Committee, Michael Turner. The Convention will take place at the Cobo Center, July 20 - July 24, 2019.
The Cobo Center is located at 1 Washington Boulevard Detroit, MI 48226.

We are 8 days away from the convention! I know my colleagues have been in constant communication
with each of you in hopes of collecting important information for our planning purposes, but also to
ensure that you have critical information to guarantee that this convention is a success for everyone.
The convention delegates who will be in attendance represent the NAACP State/Area Conferences,
Branches, Youth Councils, and College Chapters from across the nation. The demographics of the
convention attendees range from preteens & teens, to young adults, and our dedicated seniors.

You and your representative(s) will receive National Convention credentials, invitations to events, and a
delegate’s bag upon registration. Please do not go to the general registration area. Corporate
sponsorship registration will be in the Development office located in the Cobo Center, room 332.

with our President and CEO, Derrick Johnson. He would like to thank you all for your continued support
and discuss the strategies of working together to forge more sustainable opportunities throughout the
year. We look forward to seeing you all there.
