Office 365 MFA Procedure

Introduction

Office 365 MFA (Multifactor Authentication) provides additional method of authentication (Mobile
Phone) in addition to the existing authentication (Password) while accessing Office 365 services such as
Email, Teams etc., (This is not applicable when logging into EIP)

Benefits of MFA:
✓ Makes harder for attacker to get access into your email account
✓ Achieve compliance in terms of audit standards
✓ Secures our email & office 365 with additional protection
✓ Provides guard against credentials spoofing attack for Email & Office 365 services

You have to setup an initial verification number (Mobile number) for first time and there on for
every new authentication request to Office 365 email, you will be prompted for Email Password & Mobile
verification. (In case of domain joined machine where SSO (Single Sign On) is enabled, password is not required)

This feature is applicable only for Office 365 users, whose mailbox is in Office 365.

You will not be able to login to your email without your mobile. So
please ensure you have the registered mobile number with you

We will send a mail to the users before enabling MFA from Office365Migration account and it will
be enabled from the backend to a set of users batch wise.

1. Once MFA is enabled, you will be prompted as below. Click Set it up now
