63 This plait has the appearance of square senni! w ith the
advantage that it is made on a single strand much more
quickly and easily,
Square Plait bight of the standing part IS drawn tnrou gh the right-hand
A 10m tool's knot ( Kn ot 10) is made, rig 1, after which a
loop, w here it is gripped by pulling back on one strand of
the left-hand loop. Fig 2.
The process is repeated with a bight through the left-hand
loop, Fig 3, hauled tight by one strand of the right-hand
loop and so on for the required length. working alternately
from side to side, Fig 4.
To finish off the plait in such manner that it will not
unravel, the end instead of the bight is passed through the
last but one loop and back through the last, Fig 5, the
finished plait appearing as in Fig 6.
