8 The most commonly accepted knot for joining tWO ropes together
and probably the best. particularly if the ropes are of different
sizes, when the larger rope provides the bight and the smaller, the
Sheet Bend, bends or turns.
The only difference between the sheet be nd and the double sheet
Double for the latter, whilst the former has only one turn. Figs 1 to 5
bend is that two turns are taken around the bight of the main rope
Sheet Bend This knot is even more efficient if both ropes are of the same size.
