   ...       s its  name suggests,  this  loop is frequently used  by fishermen.  It can  be tied in string, as

         A well  as  in fine  synthetic line, but many argue about its  merits when tied in rope. It is a
         bulky knot, difficult to untie and prone to jam - even  on dry land!  However, it is  a very
         secure knot when tied in  synthetic rope and will stay  tied
         even in bungee  (elasticised)  shock cord, as  demonstrated
         here. It is also  a  useful camping  knot that secures tent   I
