Globally, plastics have been a growth industry for more than 60 years.

Similarly, we use a lot of plastics in our daily lives. But pollution from
plastics is also on the rise, which makes this year’s Earth Day theme, “End

Plastic Pollution.” Based on this theme, we conducted an activity called

“Garbage Patch” on 26 April 2018.

Students from grades 2and 3 were asked to make a paper bag using

newspaper or colour papers. The main objective of this activity was:

 To teach students how to use newspaper productively by

minimizing their daily consumption plastic which causes harm

to the environment.

 To educate students about recycling, reusing and reducing the

use of plastic which harm our mother land.

Students brought all the necessary materials and showed their

great involvement in the activity. Moreover, they indulged in the activity

diligently and enthusiastically and made elegant and colourful paper
