today. It will apply in the future when God changes
programs and again deals with the Jews in a special way.
All of the books after Philemon (i.e. Hebrews to
Revelation) are addressed to a time period in which there is
a distinction between Jew and Gentile and in which faith
will be demonstrated not by believing apart from works but
by performing certain works as a required expression of
faith.
31. When did the dispensation of grace begin?
The dispensation of grace began in the mid-Acts period
(i.e. Acts 9-15). Since the dispensation of grace was given
to the Apostle Paul, the dispensation of grace could not
have begun before Paul was saved in Acts 9.
In Acts 15, the Jerusalem Council is convened to
discuss the different gospel that Paul had been proclaiming,
so it is apparent that Paul must have received his mystery
information before Acts 15. Thus, the dispensation of
grace must have begun between Acts 9 and Acts 15.
32. If dispensationalism is true, why is there so much
disagreement as to exactly when this dispensation
began?
One common objection to dispensationalism is the
disagreement among dispensationalists as to the exact
moment when this dispensation began. To see if this is a
valid objection, let us consider a similar issue: the exact
date when the Lord Jesus Christ was crucified.
