Wanting to bring the dreams he had as a youth to their finalization, Yosef
asked his father to come down to Egypt. It wasn’t a sign of disrespect.
When his brothers came to Egypt, he was still the same Yosef. He loved
them as brothers and cried when he revealed himself. The truth came out,
and all could see that Yosef was their true brother after all these years.
Because Yosef identified with them and felt affection as their brother, they
were able to reciprocate.
