Hashem is close to all who call to Him sincerely. But He is not
necessarily close to all who are truly close to Him. There are times
when Hashem must deny our requests. Only He truly knows what is
good for us.
The phrase “A watchful Eye, and an attentive Ear” teaches us that every
act of ours, no matter how seemingly small, is recorded for posterity.
“Remember what Amalek did to you, on the
way, when you were leaving Egypt”
(Devarim 25:17)
