Q: Who qualifies for coverage through the Exchange?
A: The Exchange will be open to those who currently purchase insurance in the individual market and to
employees for whom coverage offered by an employer would be deemed unaffordable, or whose employer-
offered coverage does not meet certain standards. This group will include, for example, early retirees (pre-
Medicare eligible retirees), the self-employed, individuals whose employers do not provide insurance, or
whose employer’s insurance is deemed unaffordable or out of compliance with various minimum standards
                set by the PPACA.

Q: Is there a penalty for not having health insurance?
A: Effective 01/01/2014, there will be a penalty of $95 per adult and $47.50 per child under age 18, maximum
of $285 per family, or 1% of income over the tax-filing threshold whichever is greater. The first penalties will
be due when individuals file their 2014 tax returns.

Q: Who can I speak with if I have additional questions about the exchanges or our internal benefits
                options?
A: Employees eligible for and offered benefits under the Sharks’ health plan may contact our insurance
broker ExpertQuote at 408-953-1000 regarding our internal health benefits. Employees eligible for and
