kakum national park,
North of cape coast
Kakum Conservation Area is a wildlife protected area located
in the Central Region of the Republic of Ghana, West Africa. It is approximately km north of Cape Coast,
the regional capital. The conservation area which covers km consists of Kakum National Park and Assin
Attandanso Resource Reserve. I traveled by road from Accra to Cape Coast which was about hours
considering the traffic as well. From cape coast I boarded a taxi to the National Park which took another
minutes. Traveling by road was fun, you get to see old castles, abandoned Fort, beach side and rural areas. At
the park, you can go to a variety of places, it is so big, that sometimes, you might need the whole day to
reach all places.
