Entoto Hills
Entoto Hills form part of the Ethiopian highlands. Mount
Entoto is the highest peak overlooking the city of Addis
rising m above sea level. Entoto served as Menelik II s
capital before he moved to Addis Ababa. Entoto is
characterized by substantial eucalyptus trees which were
imported from Australia during Menelik II s reign.
St. george cathedral
Saint George s Cathedral is an
Ethiopian Orthodox church in Addis
Ababa, Ethiopia. The new church was
built on the ruins of an older church
from the th century. It was named
after St. George, after the Tabot Ark
of the church was carried to the
Battle of Adwa against the Italians
during which the Ethiopians secured
victory.
