it’s goodbye to kyrgyzstan
How do you put in words describing one of the best days of your life,
but there are no actual words to define your real emotions? Well,
that's how I feel. Kyrgyzstan was incredible. I didn't know what to
expect; I just kept my fingers crossed and now, I feel like I made the
best decision in choosing Kyrgyzstan even though it was most
unexpected.
When I was told to select the second country of my choice by the
Directors, I decided to do something different, go somewhere
unique, 'unheard of' being the adventurous person that I am. I
went on the map (I know it sounds funny, but it's a true story) and I
started searching. I was on the Asia part of the map when I came
across Kyrgyzstan. I couldn't pronounce the name of the country,
that was when I first got intrigued, I then searched the internet to
get some information and that was it. I approached my Directors
with the idea, and they just said ok, let's see. Some few weeks later,
they called and said I would be going to Kyrgyzstan. They also told
me that the 2019 ISIE Winner Vincent Ndam, would be
accompanying me to Kyrgyzstan which made the trip even much
more thrilling! I was happy, but uncertainty kept dwelling within
me. Everyone I told and met at the airport were asking, where is
that? It isn't a country Africans go to for either vacation or business
purposes. They hardly receive Africans as visitors, which made it
more interesting because the Kyrgyz were always excited when
they met us on the streets and places we visited. Even though we
couldn't speak their language, thanks to our media team and tour
guide who could speak English, they helped in communication.
Nonetheless, when we were on our own, we would still find a way to
communicate, which made it more fascinating. Well, the truth is,
sometimes we don't get what we order for but where's the fun in
that if we didn't experience it?
The country is peaceful, beautiful, and underrated. Of course, there
are ills between the people and the government but hey, which
country doesn't? Will I recommend Kyrgyzstan? I will 110%. I will be
advocating for Africans, especially Nigerians, to visit the country.
The trip was an enjoyable experience, my best trip so far, and it
would not have been possible without the Directors of
IMOTLTD/ISIE. I want to thank them, especially for making it
happen and keeping to their words. Hard work truly pays.
