Duffield J. Seyller III, “Duffy”,
age 68, of Harvard passed away at home surrounded by his family on
Monday morning, July 10, 2017. He was an Army veteran who served in
Vietnam. Returning after his enlistment, Duffy obtained a Bachelors De-
gree and MBA from Western Illinois University and was soon employed at
Home Federal Savings in Peoria, IL. Nine years later in 1985, he moved
to Harvard, Illinois where he was employed at Harvard Savings Bank,
later becoming Chief Executive Officer and President. During his tenure
at Harvard Savings Bank, he served as Board Chairman of the Illinois
League of Financial Institutions in 2009 and after retiring from the bank in
February of 2014 he remained on their Board of Directors until his death.
Those that knew Duffy will remember he was a lively storyteller, avid Cardinals fan and devoted to his
wife of forty-three years, JoAnn and their five children and three grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, dona-
