In 2024, the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) has remained committed to its mission of driving the recovery and growth of Thailand’s aviation sector, following the prolonged impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite strong collaboration across all sectors to overcome the various challenges, the situation has not been fully recovered to pre-pandemic period. However, these collective efforts have enabled Thailand to establish itself among the leading countries in recovery, amid global uncertainties and emerging challenges.
In 2024, Thailand recorded a total of 140 million domestic and international air passengers — representing a 15.12% increase from 2023. This recovery contributes to 85.14 percent of 2019. This remarkable achievement has been driven by the combined efforts and close collaboration of all stakeholders, highlighting Thailand’s capability to support both the recovery and future expansion of its aviation industry. With this momentum, Thailand is on track to become one of the world’s top ten aviation markets by 2031, as projected by the global aviation community.
