My heartfelt congratulations to all the
passing out students of this institution and
especially those from the department of
Applied Art. The Dept. of Applied Art is an
inevitable, inquisitive and intelligent part
of the college. They are always open to
the contemporary sensibilities and keen to
accept paradigm shifts happening in the
design world.
Students and faculty throughout the
department address first hand issues
of the world around them, with focus on
new design practices. The BFA course
equips our students to work with a
collaborative practice within a dynamic
studio environment. It gives an orientation
specifically to address the present day
demands of the industry as well as various
social issues of utmost importance. Students
are always encouraged to break down
conventional boundaries and to confront
the idea of design in a more humane way.
Meanings of design in the contemporary
culture are ever changing, but we provide
a firm foundation of technical as well as
conceptual skills that enable our students
to push themselves beyond the limits of
ordinary thinking. I wish them every success
in their future.
