WILL THE DALE DRILL WORK IN CONVENTIONAL SEEDBEDS?
Dale drills will work in min-till or conventional seedbeds. An adjustable hydraulic pressure to the drilling assemblies enables the drill to adjust to different soil conditions. Rolling the seedbed before drilling is advisable to ensure the drill works at its best.
WILL NO-TILL WORK ON HEAVY LAND?
No-till often works best on heavy land. The cost of cultivating heavy land is much higher than lighter soils, making the savings no-till can bring even greater.
Heavy land can often ‘slump’ and therefore needs cultivating in order to restructure the soil. A no-till system will, over time, increase the soil’s ability to maintain a healthy structure. Previous crop’s root systems and greater earthworm activity will generate a ‘honeycomb’ type effect, which will be better able to carry weight, improve porosity and maintain its structure.
