  CONTROLLED TRAFFIC FARMING (CTF)
CTF successfully addresses problems created by large, modern machinery –
helping reduce soil compaction and improve yields.
The idea is simple – to have all machinery (drill, cultivator and a combine for example) working at the same width and on the same wheelings.
As a result compaction is kept to a very small, fixed area and soil loosening only needs to be done in the wheel ways before the next crop is established.
Confining the wheeled area to 25% of the field, for example, gives a predicted net yield increase in the non-tracked part of the field of 10% in a winter wheat crop.
Whilst yields may be reduced in the tracked area by as much as 8%, this would still represent an overall yield increase.
All our drills are designed to facilitate CTF. A modular chassis and wings can be altered to match required bout widths, while wheel tracks can be set to match other machines on the farm. The low power requirement of our drills mean that wider drills can also be used, optimising the efficiencies CTF can bring.
