The Photographic Association of Dum Dum (PAD) hosted the
Thirteenth International Photographic Conference, in partnership with
the Birla Industrial and Technological Museum (BITM), under the Ministry
of Culture, Government of India, and the active support of PAD Alumni
Association. The conference ran from January 23rd to 27th, 2026, at the
BITM auditorium on Gurusaday Road, Kolkata. PAD first launched this international conference in 1982

during its Silver Jubilee, aiming to connect photo enthusiasts from all over the world, share updates
in photographic technology, and explore different perspectives on the art and cultural impact of
photography. This year marks the thirteenth edition, organized under FIAP Auspices.
Registration commenced at 2:00 pm on January 23rd. Mr. Rathin Chakraborty presented a
photographic travelogue, “Ballad of Silk Route,” showcasing the landscapes and cultures along the
ancient Silk Route.
The opening ceremony
started at 5 pm, with Mr. Ioannis
Lykouris, Secretary General, FIAP,
inaugurating the event. Mr. Soumen
World Affiliate in the delegates and chronicled World Affiliate

Nath Ganguly, President, PAD,
sits at the intersection of art and

Dr. Barun K. Sinha, Secretary General, FIP, raised the issue of misuse of AI in photography.
