It is a great honor to announce the inauguration of the Rio
Photography Center as the newest FIAP Exhibition Centre (FEC) in
Partner ______________ Brazil. Located at Praça XV, in the heart of Rio de Janeiro, the center
is born on ground that reflects the very soul and formation of the
Brazilian people.

The inauguration took place on the 2nd August during the
FIAP Congress. The FEC was officially opened by FIAP President,
Riccardo Busi, accompanied by FIAP Vice President, and Director of
the FIAP Exhibition Centre Service, Joan Burgues Martisella. Other
members of the FIAP Board, David Tay, Ioannis Lykouris, Romain Nero, Luis Franke, Herbert Gmeiner
and Paul Stanley were also present as were Léo Feijó and Taíla Borges, from City Hall and the State Exhibition Centres
of Rio de Janeiro Government, respectively. The event was also attended by the delegates and other
participants in the FIAP Congress.

Guests at the inauguration were
treated to music and dancers along
with an acrobatic performance on
aerial silks hung from the second-
floor balcony of the gallery. The
gallery exhibited award-winning
photographs from the Andrei
Stenin International Press Photo
Contest, by young photojournalists
from around the world.
