Great Beers
Y ou have to like a county that has more breweries than Starbucks. From north to south you do not
have to go far to nd award winning and more importantly, really good beers. Celebrate the uniqueness that is Santa Cruz and enjoy a tall cold one or two at any of our many breweries.
Santa Cruz Mountain Brewing Co.
Santa Cruz Mountain Brewery is a certi ed organic brewery, using only organic grains and hops for their brews. At SC Mountain Brewery, you’ll nd seven agship ales (Dread Brown Ale, Amber Ale, Pale Ale, Wilder Wheat, India Pale Ale, The People’s Porter, and Devout Stout), as well as a handful of seasonal ales. Their taproom and beer garden is open 7 days a week, and offers a variety of happy hour specials. Food is served from Kelly’s French Bakery from 12-7pm (8pm on Fridays). The brewery also produces hard ciders, draught root beers, and kombucha, adding to their unique offerings. And, if you don’t get your ll of beer while at the taproom and beer garden, you can take a bottle (22-ounces), a growler or a keg home.
Santa Cruz Ale Works
You can’t drink beer without eating something. Whether the food is to complement the beer or to help soak up the alcohol you’re consuming, they pretty much go hand-in-hand. Santa Cruz Ale Works must have had this in mind when setting up shop near Harvey West, because their menu is pretty awesome. Their deli offers an assortment of sides and snack, soups, salads, wraps, and hot and cold sandwiches ll the menu, all perfect complements to the beers on tap.
Back to the subject at hand: Santa Cruz Ale Works brews up some undeniable staples, like Dark Night Oatmeal Stout, India Pale Ale, Hefeweizen, and Santa Cruz Ale Works Kolsch. Growlers are available, too. ($16, then $12 for a re ll.) SC Ale Works is open seven days a week, is kid- and dog-friendly, and has a happy hour Monday-Friday.
Seabright Brewery
In business for 25 years, Seabright Brewery is as much a Santa Cruz food institution as Pizza My Heart or Moreno’s. Its primo location just a few blocks
