from Seabright Beach means you can smell the salty ocean air while sitting out on the patio, enjoying one of their many awesome beers. Seabright always has a few classic staples on tap (Pelican Pale, Seabright Amber, Sacrilicious Ale, The Blur (aptly named with its 7.4% alcohol content in mind), plus 3-8 other creations at a time, depending on what the brewers are feeling like. I’m personally a stout fan, and theirs is top-notch, having won multiple awards over the years. I’ve had the pleasure of trying many, many of their beers, and would be hard-pressed to nd one unworthy of drinking.
Seabright Brewery has a pretty appealing food menu too, chock full of appetizers and main meals that go perfectly with an icy cold pint. The brewery is also known for its Tuesday night “Neighborhood Nights,” with live music and dancing, and Happy Hour specials Monday- Friday. And if you don’t get enough of their beer while at the brewery, there are growlers to take home ($15 for initial ll, $12 for re lls), or six-packs of The Blur cans, sold exclusively at the Brewery.
Uncommon Brewers
Bacon Brown Ale. Yup, you read that right...mmm, bacon. And beer. Together. That’s a pretty awesome concept, and one that’s also very...uncommon. Located near Harvey West, Uncommon Brewers offers some common, and some uncommon, concoctions.
While Uncommon Brewers doesn’t have a taproom, you can visit by making an appointment in advance. They are one of the few local breweries with the ability to ship in- and out-of-state.
Sante Adairius Rustic Ales
Located just off Highway 1 in Capitola, the uniquely simple beers of Sante Adairius Rustic Ales are produced in small batches. Their beers are often crafted in the Belgian tradition, but also pull in in uences of other brewing styles and customs. Sante Adairius has plenty of beers on rotation to meet every palate or preference, including the 831 IPA, Maiden Fields (a tart, wheat-based beer), and Love’s Armour (a blend of 2 barrel-aged beers, Farmhouse Noir and Chavez), to name a few. The variety of avors and aromas found in their beers is tantalizingly different: cherries, boysenberries, apricot and chocolate. Sante Adairius offers bottles and growlers for sale, too. The brewery has limited hours: Thursdays and Fridays 4-8pm and Saturdays and Sundays 1-7pm).
