Swim Lesson
Program Descriptions
Our swim lesson programs and levels are based on the American Red Cross Learn- to-Swim program. At each level, swim skills are accompanied by age-appropriate water safety information.
Parent & Tot
This class is for parents who would like to introduce their young children (12 months to 3 years old) to the aquatic environment. Parents accompany their children in the water and learn basic orientation and safety skills. Children and parents learn to be safe in and around the water while building positive experience in the aquatic environment.
Tiny Tot
This is an introductory course for younger swimmers (2–3 years old) who are ready to be introduced to the water without parental involvement. Water adjustment, water play, and water safety skills are emphasized. Submerging and oating skills may be introduced.
Preschool Level 1/2
This class is a blend of two levels. There are no prerequisites for Preschool Level 1. To be considered a preschool Level 2, students must be able to submerge, blow bubbles under water, and oat (with minimal assistance), comfortably on front and back. Both levels will be working on basic skills including, but not limited to submerging, breath control (bubbles), oating, gliding, kicking, and beginner stroking.
Preschool Level 2/3
Course Prerequisites include independent oating and gliding (front and back). Preschool Level 2 students will work on rolling over front to back and back to front, front crawl and backstroke. In Addition, Preschool Level 3 students will work on breathing control including side breathing, and introduction to the dolphin and whip kick.
Upon successful completion of the Preschool Aquatics program, swimmers will be ready for standard Level 3 skills.
