Here is wishing all District Lions, a Happy Thanksgiving!
As I said in my October Link article, “The GLT’s main role is
to help develop Lion leaders to hold positions at all levels”. With that in mind, each Lion year, your district GLT and LCI provides several training opportunities for you and your Club’s Lions.
Why? To help you and your club grow in service and be more successful!
Need some help? Some district clubs have a low membership, are trying to find an appropriately sized service project, are looking for program ideas, or are struggling to keep their members happy so they don’t drop out of Lions.
Here is my suggestion. Contact DG Henry White and ask him for some help. Tell him your issues. He and his DG team are there to help you.
Need club member satisfaction tools? We have them and can help. Need to get some new members? We have resources and can help. Need interesting programs or service projects? We can provide
suggestions.
Need some officer training? Contact me and the GLT will help, Also, take
advantage
of the Lion training resources available to you.

The Hurricane Harvey relief effort is under way! Thanks to the efforts of the Rowlett Lions Club and Lions of District 2-X1, we have already sent the first 18 wheel trailer load of sheet rock to League City. 2,014 sheets of "the hard to find" sheet rock was delivered directly to fellow Lions here in Texas. Many are still suffering and trying to rebuild with limited resources. The Lions in the hardest hit areas are making sure those Lions that need the materials get them. A special thanks to Home Depot on supplying a discount and

shipping the materials directly to League City for us. If you have a contact with suppliers
that would be willing to help us, please let me know.
Prairie Host Lions Club thanks Home If your club would like to participate in Depot Nelda Garcia for thier support. helping, you may request a list of specific
materials that have been requested. These are building materials not allowed to be purchased by grants. We are in the
process of preparing our second load! If your club would like to participate, please contact me for a specific list and cost of items needed. Thanks for helping!
