The Service Challenge
The District 2-X1 has 34 clubs participating in campaign service projects. The other 28 clubs have either not reported or not planned service activity yet. It is important to report your service activities for your club to be recognized. There is still time to plan your service activities and legacy projects for this year and implement it.

Celebrating the Past/Present and looking to the
Future
In a city where it all began the Texas Centennial Celebrations took place right here in Dallas at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Richardson. Incredibly, a grand 2 day affair on October 6, 7 with distinguished speakers, entertainment, exhibits and seminars, celebration of a century of service. The city of Richardson declared October 6, 7 as Texas Lions Days and special recognitions from the Governor of Texas and the Mayor of Dallas. As the Lions from all over Texas started pouring in on Thursday/Friday, crowds flocked to the many booths to learn about Texas Lions and their projects and how they have been serving the Texas communities. Friday evening was dedicated to Celebrating the Past with a gala dinner and entertainment. PID’s Mike Butler and Beverly Stebbins highlighted the Past Leadership followed by the keynote speaker Lion Gudrun
Yngvadottir, from Iceland First International Vice President. Entertainment was provided by Lion Jeff Senour.
