International Family. Speakers included Texas State Senator Van Taylor
and Dr. Don Newbury, a motivational speaker and humorist. The keynote
address was delivered by PIP Sid Scruggs, from North Carolina, LCI
President 2010-2011. Throughout the day, service projects were organized
for those who chose to do so and were bussed to four different locations in
the city in Dallas, Grand Prairie, Garland and Plano, TX. Vision screening
using Spot device, Diabetes screening, Eyeglass recycling were some of
the projects worked on. Goalball demonstration game was also done at
Richardson High School. Historic room was also set up to display historic
data of Founders Clubs. An exhibition of Antique classic car show in the parking lot was organized for the enjoyment of all Lions.
The celebrations closed Saturday evening with ‘Looking forward to the Future’ a night in the old West hosted by the Councils of MD-2 Texas. Texas State Senator Don Huffines was the keynote speaker praised Lions service to the Texas communities. Music was provided by Dave Alexanders Band so the Lions could dance to the western tunes. A sumptuous East Texas BBQ dinner filled the palates of the Lions. The event closed with ‘The Circle of Hope’ led by International 1st V.P. Gudrun Yngvadottir.

The 2nd Cabinet Meeting is over and what a wonderful time we had, thank to the Waxahachie Lions Club. The attend was low, but we had FUN. What I like most was the fun we has at lunch visiting with our family. I am so proud to work with you this year.
