2018 Canada and US Emerging Lions Leadership Institute

The 2018 Canada-US ELLI was held at the Hilton Rosemont/O’Hare Hotel from Nov. 3rd to 5th, attended by 75 Lions from Canada (14), US (mainland, 57), Barbados (1), Rep. Of Trinidad- Tobago (3). Attendees started to arrive on Friday, Nov. 2nd, 2018 by land or air and
attended a Welcome Hospitality program that evening. The Multi Districts Texas represented by the most Lions (8) from District 2-A3 (1), 2-S3 (2), 2-S4 (1), 2-T3 (3), and 2-X1 (1) which I’m honored to represent.
On the Opening Program, the 2018 ELLI attendees agreed to use ‘Diversity, Unity and Leadership’ as their motto. The workshop was divided into three major topics (one for each day): Lions, Past, Present and Future, Conducting Effective Meetings, and
Ensuring Club Success were presented by
6 Institute and Seminars presenters (4 from US and 2 from Canada. From all the subjects being presented, the most responded workshop were on the Diversity and Communication subjects (under Conducting Effective Meeting). Most attending Lions were came from different backgrounds and cultures, thus could very much relate to the diversity and learned on how to conduct and manage effective meetings and how to use the best communication practice to reach the
