Texas Centennial Celebrations
The Texas Centennial celebration is next month on October 6,7 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Richardson. Our District being the host, it is critical that we all attend and show support and our hospitality. Please register (see pages 20 - 35) if you have not done so. We have an excellent program planned. We are putting together a program souvenir book and you are invited to publish Ads, about your club or business. Full page $250, Half page $150, Quarter page $75.
The Service Challenge
As you all are aware, during the International convention in Chicago, President Aggarwal’s theme is “We Serve”. Because of the worldwide diabetic epidemic, Diabetes has been added as the fifth service activity. By 2021 our service needs to serve 200 million people every year, worldwide. . The District 2-X1 is off to a good start this year with 23 clubs participating in campaign service challenge. It is important to report your service activities for your club to be recognized. There is still time plan your service activities for this year and implement it
The following clubs had participated in all four service activities last year. Balch Spring, Commerce, Coppell, Dallas Dalcliff, Dallas Everest, Dallas Filipino, Dallas White Rock, Desoto, Duncanville Noon, Forney, Garland Evening, Grand Prairie Host, Greenville, Irving Noon Day, Italy, Kaufman, Plano Evening, Richardson Host, Richardson Mid-Day, Royse City, Sachse, Seagoville Sunset and Wylie Evening. Let us repeat it again this year and hope rest of the clubs will also join.
District 2-X1 Service Activities
Centennial Membership Challenge
The District membership for this year closes with a net loss of 98 members. Membership retention is the key to maintain a positive growth.
Legacy Projects
Last year we had about 10 clubs participate in Legacy projects. We have until June 2018 to complete your projects. Remaining clubs, please continue to plan and implement your legacy project.
