PAST DISTRICT GOVERNORS Texas - District 2- 1918-1930
From 1918 through 1930, for Lions organization, the entire State of Texas was one 'Single District' - an 800+ mile across and over 900 miles from San Benito in the lower valley to Texline in the upper panhandle. It was a mighty large area for a "Lone Star" Governor to cover!!
Texas became known as "District-2" having only one District Governor for the entire State, and having an official Convention in Dallas, Texas. Illinois was designated as District-1 due to the work of Melvin Jones as the Founder of Lions organization.

In 1930, the LCI divided the "District-2" (Texas) into five 'Sub- Districts' (2T-2E-2X-2A-2S), each with their own District Governors - still some mighty large area to cover, but better than the whole State of Texas.
