Another year comes to a close, and as we look back at our accomplishments, it has been a remarkable year. Firstly, our District Lions should be proud of the service we provided in our communities and making a difference. During the Centennial years (2014-2018) we have served almost 300,000 people far exceeding our goal. Secondly, we installed over 370 new members, perhaps the highest in MD-2. But we dropped over 400 members, an area we need to focus on next year, on how to retain our members. Two new clubs were chartered and we now have seven Leo clubs in our district. I am proud of the work our DG team and our clubs have done to align with the vision of ‘We Serve’.
It is time for the clubs to file for the Club Excellence and other awards. These awards are given annually to recognize clubs that have performed in all four areas of LCI forward, Service, Membership Development, Increase Visibility and Club Governance. Lastly, I would like to thank DG Henry White for his leadership during the past year and welcome DGE Keith Murray for another successful year.
I am looking forward to attending the International Convention on June 30-July 4 at Las Vegas and hope to see some of you there.

I want to start this Lions Years by thanking IPDG Henry White for his service and leadership as District 2-X1 Governor in 2017 – 2018. I want to wish District 2-X1 Governor for 2018 – 2019 Keith Murray all the best. I believe he will lead our District to another great year of service to others. I would ask that all District 2-X1 Lions support our District in this new year. Please plan your service projects so they meet the needs in your communities. Have fun as you serve and always be looking for more and better ways to serve. I know your District Governor's Team for District 2-X1 stands ready to support all Lions Clubs and all Lions Club Members. Please plan and work on fund raising projects so you have the funds to
support our International, National, State, District, and community charities and needs. Please contact me at any time if you have questions or need support.
