(Lion Bill from Page 1 ) Saturday evening. Thank you Lions John McGinnis and Roy Chirayil for getting us ready to serve when we are called.
On May 7th, please come and join me as we celebrate the birth of a new Lions club at the Charter night of the Dallas Frisco Indian Centennial Lions Club. Make your reservations by emailing Shruti at friscoindianlionsclub@gmail.com.
Please keep in mind that we always need more service minded individuals to help us in our mission to make our communities stronger, to extend a helping hand to those in need, and to make our little corner of the world better than we found it.
(Lion Fred from Page 3 ) Once again, you may attend any class that has an empty seat at the start of class. Note that after June 8th the registration fee increases to $40.
• LU Registration forms are available at: www.lions2x1university.org
• Payments to “District 2-X1” may be via PayPal or by personal or club check.
Club Membership Chair & Committee Training – May 13th
All new and existing club Membership Chairpersons and their committee members should plan to attend the May 13th training that is especially designed to help clubs grow in membership and service. This event will be held at the Courtyard Center for Professional and Economic Development located at 4800 Preston Park Blvd. Plano TX in Room 422 from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm.
Also - Zone Chairperson Training: May 6, 2017 – Courtyard Center 9:00 am – 2:30 pm
Trained Lions = Better Lions!
(Lion Keith from Page 2 ) ID Alan Lundgren is a dynamic speaker (even if a Chicago Bears fan) and CC Lion TJ has many good Lionism stories to tell. The VRC exercise was well done and we may get to see it in action in Canton, unfortunately for them.
Last but not least congratulations again to the 30 Grass Roots Lions (see pages 26 thru 33) who were recognized at the Banquet Saturday evening. There are some truly amazing stories about these newer lions that have made a difference in their clubs. Like the Grass Roots Lions from years past, these are our leaders for the future. Also a shout out of congratulations for those other award recipients.
(Lion Henry from Page 2 ) A special thanks to PDG John Eads for implementing the Grass Roots program in 1985. Lion Keith did a fantastic job in presenting the program (see pages 26 thru 33).
Congratulations to all our District Commitee Chairs. If your membership chair does not know about membership training on May 13, 2017 (see page 7 and 18) please contact GLT Lion Fred Conger or GMT PDG Wayne Meachum for more information. Lions International has added a new position to each Lion district, Global Service Team Coordinator. As I talked about Saturday night at our convention one of my goals is to strive for more service projects and programs by each club. This position will be working along with the GLT and GMT and will be called Global Service Team (GST). If anyone has an interest in serving in this position, please email me or a member of the DG Governors team.
