Zone 5 Brings the Christmas Spirt

There are lots of good stories about Lions Clubs in action around the holiday times. Zone 5 clubs all have individual club stories, but I’d like to share one where six of our seven clubs united for one cause! Dallas White Rock Lions Club “adopted” a Mesquite nursing home several years ago. They bring goodies and treats to the home during holidays and regularly play Bingo with the residents. For the third year in a row, Richardson Host, Richardson Midday, Founder, Dallas Park Cities, and UTD Infinity Lions Clubs joined with Dallas White Rock club to provide 40 residents each with a big gift sack full of gifts! There was nothing better than presenting all those gift bags to the surprised residents. Well, maybe there was one thing that was better....the mass craziness of the assembly line that put the bags together during our last Zone 5 meeting! The meeting became a lesson on “how to fit over 300 gifts, 40 large bags, 40 lions, and a 1000 sheets of tissue paper all in one little meeting room”!
A big thanks to Zone 5 clubs who really know how to unite for fun and a good cause.
