The luncheon was held for the first time at the First United Methodist Church, downtown Dallas and was named in memory of the foremost advocate of women’s right in the history of the United State, Susan B. Anthony, hence, the name of the Congress 19th Amendment. The SBA luncheon adopted by the League of Women Voters of Dallas in 2005, and since becomes its annual major fundraiser event. Since the inception, the SBA Award is presented to person(s) who exemplify Ms. Anthony's characteristic, independence, persistence, determination, and dedication in obtaining equal rights. At the 2018 luncheon, Lion Carol and her mother were recognized and presented Founders Awards by the SBA Luncheon Committee. Congratulation Lion Carol, we’re proud of you.

Lion Carol Donovan Receives Susan B. Anthony Founders Award
Several Oak Cliff Lions Club members attended the League of Women Voters of Dallas’ 2018 Annual Susan B. Anthony Luncheon on Thursday, Feb. 8th, 2018 at the Lakewood Country Club, Dallas, TX. The luncheon was initiated by the Oak Cliff Lions Club’s Past President Carol Crabtree Donovan and her mother Vernie Crabtree, 21 years ago in 1997.
Oak Cliff Lions Kick-Off Measles Initiative Fundraiser
First VP Lion Anastasia Semos chaired the Oak Cliff Lions Club’s new fundraising project ‘One Shot, One Life’ Measles Initiative. The MI Committee’s kicks off will be on Wednesday March 7th, 2018 when District 2- X1 LCIF Ambassador Lion PDG Dan Busdiecker will give speech about the LCIF and Measles Initiative. This will be followed by an evening ice skating event “Skate for Measles Initiative” at the Galleria Ice Skating Center, Galleria Mall, Dallas, TX on Sunday, March 18, 2018 from 6:15 to 7:45 PM.
