Revision of rules and regulations was a major achievement of the Varsity Club in 1968 and 1969. Successful field-day ventures in the fall and again in the spring netted sums in excess of $100. Part of this was used for purchase of Varsity Club jac kets.
Mr. Harold Breene, Wardlaw athletic director, advised the organization. Members included Do nald J. McGinn, Jr., Dennis A. Coney, Ralph E. Anthony, Jay J. Hoffacker, and George M. Rounds, III. Athletes were nominated by the athletic de partment, approved by the faculty, and elected by members of the previous year.
Such qualities as athletic achievement in three varsity sports and good sportsmanship are requisites for membership.
In addition to their athletic pursuits. Varsity Clubbers supervised lower schoolers in their lunch- recess playground activities.
The group’s major problem during the past year was finding time to get together for meetings in the face of a very heavy and complicated academic and athletic schedule.
