P. 6
Wardlaw School is a very special place. Of course, it is not perfect as nothing in life is. There are parts of our school which are in need of change. Nevertheless, Wardlaw offers a boy a great deal; and, if he is wise enough, he can capitalize on many opportunities. If he looks and works hard enough, a Wardlaw student can definitely find himself and define his life for the future. For these reasons the Maroon and Gold staff considers Wardlaw a compatible place in which to learn.
The purpose of a yearbook is to give an account of the school year. In the past it has been the practice to follow a specific theme in revealing Wardlaw. This year's staff has decided to eliminate a specific theme in order to make sure that it can explore Wardlaw totally. This year if there is to be any theme at all, it is Wardlaw itself.
As you read on, this book may reveal changes, and recognizing the need for change, this year’s Maroon and Gold editors took the initiative and decided to do something about it. Change or no change, it is hoped that, when today’s students look back upon this book as older and more experienced adults, it will help them to recreate their moments here. Maybe then they can say, “Yeah, this was Wardlaw, 1972.’’
