The tennis tournament of 1918 began early in the fall, as usual, hut was seriously delayed
before the last few matches were played off by the influ
enza quarantine. By the time the quarantine was over the w'eather had become too cold to play. However, about the first of May, as soon as the court was ready, the remaining games were played, and the finals came off the thirteenth of May. Cath erine Stockwell won the tourna ment, and on the fourteenth she played with Katharine Shella- barger for the school champion ship. The result was 6-2, 6-3
in Katharine Shellabarger’s fa vor, so that she now holds the championship for the second
year.
