Plagued by numerous injuries and facing a tough schedule, the varsity football team ended its season with a disappointing re cord of 2-6. These injuries involved such key players as Brian Roach, a strong offensive player who suf fered a leg injury; running back Dean DeSantis; Tim Swain, who broke his ankle; and Chris McAvoy. The loss of so many players result ed in a lack of depth which caused
the team to be worn down towards the end of many of its games. The team had many outstanding play ers, such as Dave Lonski, who was named Most Valuable Player, Dean DeSantis, who received the Coach’s Award, and Dave Giacomarra, who was named Scholar-Athlete. Al though the team is losing many seniors, there are many strong returning players and the team’s future looks bright.
