Although this year’s team was comprised of many young and in­ experienced players, the varsity basketball team has done very well. Such highpoints as the victory in the Dwight-Englewood Holiday Tournament, the double overtime win over Delbarton and the defeat of Pennington at the buzzer served to help mature the younger players. This experience resulted in the final
11-12 record. Brian Roach played a major role in the team’s success. On several occasions he was selected as athlete of the week by local news­ papers. Coach Ray Kovonuk com­ mented, “We are pleased with this year’s success and the performance of the team, especially that of the younger players. We are very opti­ mistic about next year’s prospects.”
