This year the Varsity Soccer team made a vast im provement over last year’s record. With only five return ing starters, the team’s chances of reaching the states were dim, but under the leadership of Captains Greg Cordasco, Randy Rogers, and Matt Albano, the team soon showed what they could do, finishing the season with a 10-6-2 record. The Booters were seeded number one coming into the states and proved they deserved the rating by reaching the finals. Unfortunately, they lost to
Pennington, last year’s champions. Six out of the starting eleven made the all state team. Rick McMurrian became the team’s leading scorer and the second leading scorer in school history. “We were disappointed with the states, but we did everything we could. The team really played well,” said Coach Freeman.
