This year’s Varsity Field Flockey team, with a .500 record, made it all the way to the state championship. After defeating Gill-St. Bernard’s 2- 0, the girls went on to play Morris- town-Beard. In that critical cham pionship contest, Eloise Cordasco scored the team’s two goals; yet she was not the team’s only hero. Goalie Kara Kenny saved the day by stop ping a penalty stroke shot that would have sent the game into overtime. Coach Donna Kern was very pleased with the team’s record and their per formance in the states and cited Elo ise Cordasco, Kara Kenny, Jill Ken ny, Maria Wilson, and Donna Mac Gillivray as the team’s outstanding players. All five girls made the New Jersey Independent School Allstar Team. “The girls really worked hard and it showed in state champion ship,” said Coach Kern.
