This year's president, Kirstin Swenson, instituted a new fund raiser, the Five Point Star Program, to raise funds solely for use in buy ing a gift for the school. Beginning in June, the members of the senior class contributed small change for recreational activities according to a list created by the class advisor, Mrs. newton.
Other fund raisers were con ducted in order to raise money for the Junior/Senior Prom including baking cookies boxes for Christmas and holding a bagel sale in February. The Third Annual Senior Service Day was held in March during which the Senior Class allowed themselves to be bid on and taken advantage of by underclassmen. But as always, it was a successful fund raiser as was Ital ian night accompanied by an auc
tion in April.
In February, the Senior Class
showed their school spirit and bas ketball abilities by winning the Shootout sponsored by the Booster Club.
The Junior Class had a very active year, seeming to have something new for each season. They started by holding a candy sale in the fall and then selling pepper mills and vita mins at Christmas. For Valentine's Day, it was boxes of candy, followed by making and selling cast T-shirts for the Spring Musical.
President Carmelyn Malalis started a bimonthly intra-class newsletter. One can safely say that the "Junior Mints" came together as a class, winning both the Shop-Rite Breakfast and Luncheon. And in May, the class took a trip to Broad way to see Les Miserables.
