The Junior Statesmen of America (also known as the Debate Club) had a very successful year. As always throughout the year they conducted debates on topics ranging from censorship to the re-unification of Germany. In October, the JSA went to a convention in Philadelphia where they had the opportunity to speak in Independ
ence Hall. Then in March, they went to Washington, D.C. to participate in a "mock Senate" at the House of Representatives.
As a fund raiser, the JSA published a business directory of W-H parents which was distributed to the entire school family. With the monies raised, the JSA purchased a POW flag for the school as well as individual American flags for each classroom.
