 JUNIOR SOCCER
First Row: E. Kratzman, Dinerman, Theander, Sadwith, Searls, Hierl, E. Galton, Mr. Johnson, (coach). Second Row: Spake, Shapiro, B. Loosli, Traticant, Titus, A. Fort, Whitham, Hogan.
The junior soccer team had a better season than its record indicates. With only one returning letterman. Captain John Titus, Coach Robert Johnson had a team with little experience.
Coach Johnson's first task was to build a forward line. Jim Sadwith gained the center-forward posi
tion, with E. A. Kratzman and Eric Salton at the two inside spots. Doug Dinerman and high-scorer Jim Searls made up the wings. The defense was led by Titus at center-halfback. Bill Traficant and Andy Fort at full back, and Greg Spake as goalie.
In their first game against Short Hills, the juniors were on the short end of a 2-1 score. Jim Searles scored the only goal. The second game was much the same story. The juniors bowed to Montclair 4-1, Searls again scoring the lone goal. The junior hoot ers then gained two consecutive 1-1 ties against Rutgers Prep. In the final game the juniors, who had previously lost to Short Hills, walloped them 7-0.
Captains-elect for next year's team are E. A. Kratz man and Jim Searls. Coach Johnson, who is losing only three of eleven starters, has reason to look for ward to a promising season in 1965.
