MAROON AND GOLD
Editors and staff members of the 1965 Maroon and Gold have labored earnestly to produce a yearbook that would have individuality and at the same time would reflect the high standards set by previous yearbooks. Early in the fall
Editor-in- chief Hugh McPhee, who was last year's number-one photographer, decided that the current yearbook would emphasize pictures rather than words. To help carry out his plan, McPhee had the able assistance of photogra phers Anthony Furman and Robert Smithers, both of whom were veterans of last year's publica tion. Assisting with the over-all layout was Fred Anthony, who occupied the newly-created post of associate editor. Literary editor Edward Snowdon had the assistance of a talented staff of writers which included John Robson, David Larison, Greg Sandford, and Phillip Connell. An innovation this year was to have members of the
eighth grade write articles dealing with the lower grades.
Business affairs for the Maroon and Gold were handled by Peter Pomeroy and Victor Le vine. As associate editor, Pomeroy kept the publication books up to date and also super vised the patron campaign. His chronic pleas to "get those patron returns in" resounded throughout the hallsduring the fall. Business man ager Levine directed the advertising campaign and was a frequent visitor to the Plainfield shop ping district. Unsuspecting shop owners were fair game for the enterprising Levine and his associates, without whose initiative the Maroon and Gold could never have gone to press.
Two new faculty advisors joined the Maroon and Gold staff this year. Mr. Robert Paoli as sisted Mr. Lewis Timberlake with editorial work while Mrs. Elizabeth Gosch lent valuable assist ance as art advisor.
