THE WARDLAW BEACON
The Wardlaw Beacon this year continued the editorial and physical improvements which had been begun the year before.
Co-editors of the monthly newspaper were Robert Whitman and James Stewart, the latter doing most of the editorials while the former handled most of the editing of the news copy. Edward Snowdon wrote features and occa sional news stories, and John Robson edited the sports page. Anthony Furman and Robert Smithers were the Beacon photographers, and Glen Bliwise worked as busi ness manager. Jeffrey Heim served as alumni and ex change editor with David Larison in charge of circulation. All cartoons were done by Daniel Gosch.
Mr. Lewis Timberlake, serving as faculty advisor for both the Beacon and the Maroon and Gold, was able to assemble the largest and most active staff of writers the paper had ever had.
A journalism class of about twenty students met every Thursday throughout the year. Journalistic interest and enthusiasm continued high, and the class provided a source of writers for several years to come.
Mrs. Elizabeth Gosch was art advisor to the Beacon, and Mr. Robert Paoli assisted Mr. Timberlake as editorial
faculty advisor.
