Deep in the W ardlaw-Hartridge basement, behind locked doors, with a dim red light glowing and ozone waft­ ing through the air, looms the dark­ room. Shadowy figures lurk in its depths, forming images esoteric and arcane. It is here that innocent young students are initiated into the m ysteries of printing, processing, and the photo­ graphic eye. They are led through this tangled web by seniors adept at con­
