2 This year the Varsity Soccer Team was coached by Howard Feeman and Joseph Pro- copio. Under their guidance the soccer team compiled an 8-8-2 overall record. The team also maintained a winning season among the independent schools with a 7-4-0 record. By far the most gratifying win of the season was the 2- 1 victory over the Pennington team, since it
was Pennington’s only regulation loss of the season.
The soccer team lost the first round of the states to a team that they had beaten earlier in the season. “This was really the only disap pointment that the team produced this sea
son,” said coach Freeman. Despite the first round loss coach Freeman was impressed with the efforts, cooperation and determination of the team this year.
There were many laudable individual accom plishments amoung the team members. Co captain Dave Stout was named MVP, this year and made the first All-State B division soccer team of Independent Schools. Co-captain Joe Rempson received the coach's award and
made the second All-State team. Rick McMur- rian led the scoring with 14 goals and 7 assists to accumulate a total of 47 career goals, and also made the the second All-State team. Tom Kopodakis and David Lombardi, the only ju
nior, made the second All-State team.
As quoted by a senior member of the team, “ This year’s team despite its injuries and loses
was one of the best soccer teams the school [-|po nrnHnpoH ”
